Root / Recovery / Instal Custom ROM Alcatel 4010

The phone i would like to work on is Alcatel T'Pop 4010x, since i have that phone. Hence I will share a thing or two of what i have learnt on it.
 First lets start with the simple thing, like rooting the phone, then installing CWM recovery then Finally installing Custom Rom for Alcatel T'Pop 4010 or Alcatel One Touch Glory 2S

 1. How to root Alcatel OT 4010x
Rooting Alcatel T'Pop 4010x.
So far, the chinese rooting way is the best for me, hope it will work for you too.
Steps:-
1. Download the VRoot program here and install it to your computer.
2. Connect your Alcatel 4010x to your PC via usb cable.
3. On your phones Application settings, Check/tick the "Usb debbugging"
4. The program will notice your phone type and display you model i.e 4010.
5. Click the green botton, and when it's done you will see a tick to show its okay.
6. The phone will reboot, and there your phone is rooted.

 Changing Super user into english.
1. After you phone is rooted, go to Google Play Store and download you Super user of your choice.
2. Let the SuperSU install then run the app in your phone, it will change the binary to English.
3. If you installed SuperSU by chainefire it will reques if to uninstall the Chinese super use, please Grant it permission and there you have an english super user.
If you choose another super user, make sure after installing the app you run it and grant root permission, then install Link2sd app to uninstall the Chinese Superuser and also make the super user you downloaded a system app.

NB : But the hard truth that you wont hear anywhere else is this. After rooing this phone, there is a very high chance that your phone will cease to receive phone calls. And keeping in mind that you have already void the warranty after rooting, that is the hard decision to make.


 2. How to install CWM Recovery on Alcatel OT 4010 / Glory 2s

1. Download CWM recovery and Mobile Uncle Tools.apk from here of which i the phone must be rooted.
2. Copy the two files to the rood of your sd card. Then install Mobile Uncle Tools.apk on your Alcatel T' Pop.
3. Open the Mobile uncle application and  grant it superuser permissions. Just press the left option (that is the “allow button”).
4. Click continue then choose “flash recovery from sd card”. Choose the recovery.img. Well-done you now have CWM 5.5.4 installed on your phone.

3. How to install Custom Rom on Alcatel OT 4010 / Glory 2s
If you were stuck like me, now i have found a solution on unbricking your Alcatel OT 4010. Using a Xperia Z Custom ROM for Alcatel 4010

INSTALLING XPERIA Z MOD FOR ALCATEL T’POP

Now that you have a rooted phone and CWM recovery installed lets play with custom roms. To install a custom rom is simple but sometime things can go wrong. First you have to save your current rom. Switch off your phone and Press the Volume Up and Power button  to enter recover mode. Select Backup and Restore, then Backup and wait for CWM to backup your current ROM which can be used to restore your phone to an earlier state.

1. Download the Xperia Z custom rom for Alcatel T’pop from here
2. Save the ALCATEL_4010_XPERIA_ROM_MOD.zip and the named CLOCKWORKMOD containing other files.
3. Copy the CLOCKWORKMOD folder you downloaded to the root of your sd card.
4. Copy ALCATEL_4010_XPERIA_ROM_MOD.zip to the root of your sd card, do not extract the zip file.

Installation

1. Make sure your phone is fully charged then switch off your phone.
2. Long press volume up then power button untill the phone boots then release.
3. Do the following first -Wipe data/factory reset -Wipe cache partition  if any
4. Select the option INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD. Select ALCATEL_4010_XPERIA_ROM_MOD.zip that you downloaded and place at root of sd card.
5. Install the zip
6. When complete select -- Go Back -- until you find the option BACKUP AND RESTORE.
7. Select Restore and select Restore/ .Wait until the operation is complete and reboot your system.
